McDonald's financial stuff
As I recall, the info you added sounded like promotional copy for McDs, a number of superlatives, listing of recognition from industry groups... The facts that you describe could probably be included but perhaps in an existing section or in a less spectacular fashion. I don't think that McD being on S&P list is notable since the article says elsewhere that this is a big company, so it being the only fast food company on that list is doubly not notable. - How about something like
- "McDonald's has increased shareholder dividends for 25 consecutive years [19] making its annual dividend the highest among publicly traded companies in the fast food industry."{I assume you had a reference for this last part, otherwise it should be changed.]
- The percentage, the alleged financial crisis, the S&P 500, etc. are extraneous. It's stuff like that made it sound like a commercial to me. No problem with the facts, but no reason to bring in the amount of the dividend, etc. Your references probably have that so if anyone is that interested they can read the refs. I hope something closer to that works for you. I don't have any special side on this - just want the article to sound encyclopedic. If you feel the info you presented was that critical, go ahead and restore it, I won't rvt it again. We should probably move/copy this discussion to the McD talk page if other editors have input. - Couple of little things. ONLY has to be in lower case - only. I really think that the stuff past the ( could be dropped - the 25 year is repeated. The Dividend Aristocrat wikilink isn't working [it's red] because there isn't an article of that exact name. Certainly, if that link worked, there would be no need for the stuff past the (. There might be an easy way to move/copy this to the discussion page, but all I'd know to do was copy/paste.
