Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to LGBT history. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. SunDawn (talk) 01:27, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because it is being used only for vandalism. Furthermore, your username is a blatant violation of our username policy, meaning that it is profane, threatens, attacks or impersonates another person, or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. I regret what I have done.

Request reason:

I previously used this account to vandalize pages. I was banned indefinitely. However, not only has this ban affected me, it also affects others attempting to edit pages on Wikipedia under the same IP. I will log out of the account used for the vandalism to distance myself from my previous actions (done a while ago now). This account also violated Wikipedia's username policy so I have created an alternate account, hopefully to be used to respectfully edit Wikipedia once unblocked. To be frank, I regret using my account for vandalism purposes. I now find myself wanting to repair grammatical issues or wording on pages and am unable to do so because of my previous actions. I hope to be helpful on this site and use my new account as a fresh start. If the person reviewing this page finds my actions too heinous to forgive, at least allow others on the IP to edit pages as they did nothing wrong. Decline reason:

Confirmed to Wikifwiend which I will go and block immediately. Yamla (talk) 21:45, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

A bit confused now.

@Yamla Correct me if I am wrong, I genuinely mean no harm or annoyance.

You are correct, Wikifwiend was an alternate account. However, the account was not used for vandalism (to my knowledge) and was also already blocked. It seems as if you skimmed my message in a routine-ly manner and did not see that I already mentioned my alternate account. This account, AnonTroller (a username not in accordance with Wikipedia's username policy, as said in my earlier post), was used strictly for vandalism in 2021. After review of the unblock requests and FAQ and such, I believed I had made a valid case for an unblock, at least for others sharing my IP. I firmly believe my actions from 2021 to be wrong and regret them now as I'd love to make constructive edits to Wikipedia. I will distance myself from this account should I be unblocked. What harm would there be in unblocking me and should I vandalize a page (which I will not), just re-blocking me indefinitely once again? Please reconsider your denial of my request. AnonTroller (talk) 22:27, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikifwiend was WP:ILLEGIT and you did not mention that account by name. You are not eligible for WP:CLEANSTART. From memory, I saw no evidence this block was affecting anyone other than you. If you can make a case to be unblocked, feel free to do so. A different admin will review it. --Yamla (talk) 11:33, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I made a mistake in my previous unblock request

Request reason:

I previously made an unblock request that was denied because of an alternate account that I had. After reading the page on sockpuppetry, I now see that, yes, I attempted a Clean Start when I shouldn't have. I clearly did not do deep enough research on the unblocking. However, I now request an unblock of my IP as others on the IP may want to create edits. I know a previous admin said the block did not affect anyone other than myself, but as the IP is a shared workplace, anyone on the IP is now blocked as well. I'm not sure what to do as I am not eligible for a Clean Start. This account violates Wikipedia's username policy, so should I be unblocked, I still cannot use the account. Should this request be denied, do I change my username so I can still take accountability for my previous nonconstructive edits? I will once again state that I regret my actions and would like to make good-willed edits on Wikipedia in the near future. If you'd like to read a bit further, the previous unblock request has a bit more information (although some is incorrect as Yamla pointed out). AnonTroller (talk) 20:31, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If others are affected by the autoblock on your IP, they can request unblock themselves. Actions have consequences, and not just for the person performing them. If you want to be unblocked, you will need to tell us a new username we can rename this account to, and also tell what topics or articles you intend to edit in. 331dot (talk) 22:26, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hopefully the last request

This user is asking to be unblocked to request a change in username.

Requested username:

Request reason:
My current username does not follow the username policy and this account was used by myself to vandalize pages in 2021. I regret my actions and hope to make constructive edits in the near future. One such edit I would like to make is an edit to the Invisible Ships page in which the sentence "It is likely based on a passage of Joseph Banks' diary..." is present. I believe the word "it" should not be used and should potentially be replaced with something along the lines of "the phenomenon". This is just one such example and I hope to make many others. Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please place {{subst:Unblock on hold-notification | 1=AnonTroller}} on the administrator's talk page. Then replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=DentedCan | 3=My current username does not follow the username policy and this account was used by myself to vandalize pages in 2021. AnonTroller (talk) 00:56, 24 April 2024 (UTC) | 4=~~~~}}[reply]

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=DentedCan | reason=My current username does not follow the username policy and this account was used by myself to vandalize pages in 2021. AnonTroller (talk) 00:56, 24 April 2024 (UTC) | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}[reply]

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=DentedCan | reason=My current username does not follow the username policy and this account was used by myself to vandalize pages in 2021.
