Welcome!

Hello, Mabel Cat Inc, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Again, welcome!  Schazjmd (talk) 22:04, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User name

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Mabel Cat Inc", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Mabel Cat Inc. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Carol Burnett, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Schazjmd (talk) 22:08, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

March 2024

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Carol Burnett, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Schazjmd (talk) 22:38, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I represent Carol Burnett. We are trying to fix some things on her wikipedia page at her request. How can I make these changes or can I source myself? Mabel Cat Inc (talk) 22:41, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
First off, please see the notice above about your user name and change it.
Second, you have a conflict of interest, and should be requesting edits on the article's talk page rather than making them yourself.
Third, you are not a reliable source for any information. Wikipedia requires published reliable sources. Schazjmd (talk) 22:42, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for taking care of the account name issue! Schazjmd (talk) 14:07, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for approving it so quickly and I’ll be submitting g updates via Talk for Carol Burnett’s wiki page. 75.40.76.90 (talk) 16:02, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Angie at Mabel Cat. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Talk:Carol Burnett, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Angie at Mabel Cat. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Angie at Mabel Cat|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ~Swarm~ {sting} 05:43, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
