File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Franz Kafka young.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Franz Kafka young.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MGA73 (talk) 19:40, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thank you for the notice on my talk page. I found the picture on http://www.randomhouse.com/author/14934/franz-kafka?sort=best_13wk_3month and there is a "Photo © Courtesy of Schocken Books" just below the picture. Generally all images on the Internet are copyrighted unless they specificly tells otherwise. I think it is old enough to be ok but to be sure I suggest we send it to "puf". I'll be back in a few moments. --MGA73 (talk) 09:09, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Dadra and Nagar haveli Map.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Why my image File:Dadra and Nagar haveli Map.jpg is listed for deletion? Please give details.

I suggest you click on the discussion link in the original text. It explains it all in the entry.
However, to aid you slightly, the reason is - Non-free map. Isn't a map always replaceable by drawing your own map of the same area? Stefan2 (talk) 09:27, 26 February 2012 (UTC).

Non-free rationale for File:Maharaja-College-Mysore-photo.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Maharaja-College-Mysore-photo.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:15, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have appended the rationale for the image.  Done AJ (talk) 22:39, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:AJ.iitm face.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:AJ.iitm face.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:AJ.iitm face.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:AJ.iitm face.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

Hello

Hi Abhishek, my name is Aayush and like you, I've also recently joined Wikipedia. I noticed you had nominated a pic of Bahubali for the featured pic, thanks for that! If you would like, you can join WikiProject Jainism. This group tries its best to maintain Jainism related articles. We also try our best to protect these articles from vandals who tend to disregard the Jain side of things. The Jain group on Wikipedia is very small and we could definitely use some help in maintaing and protecting the Jain point of view on Wikipedia. If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact me. Have fun on Wikipedia! --Aayush18 (talk) 16:36, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Nice to meet you Aayush! Thanks for the invitation! Being a Jain I have an advantage of getting Jain literature that seem to be very scarce over the internet. But I would be able to do that only during the summer vacs when I go home. Right now I'm very busy so I'm not able to contribute to Wiki. I hope to find time soon and get back to it. AJ (talk) 13:07, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds great Abhishek! Also, I completely understand your situation, I'm actually in my final year of college right now. So I look forward to working with you in maintaining the WikiProject Jainism, the Jainism Portal and other Jain articles.--Aayush18 (talk) 04:40, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Maharaja-College-Mysore-photo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Maharaja-College-Mysore-photo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:21, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article A Flowering Tree (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Disambiguation not required (WP:2DABS). The primary topic has a hatnote to the only other uses

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
