Have a Barnstar!

The Template Barnstar
Nice work on the {{ValidateUP}} proposed template redesign. Hopefully we can work together on more templates in the future. Now, maybe one of these days we'll see our work go live! --ANowlin: talk 04:05, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

lol... wow

didn't know that inserting one feaking comma could get me a barnstar :P Thanks. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 02:12, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

I was looking at the edit thinking, dude, that's three orders of magnitude wrong, then along came you and corrected it. 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 02:16, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/E-Adventure

Hidden due to containing obscenities
Re. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/E-Adventure diff

Please add correct headerings and try conform it to the wikipedia manual of style.

What the fuck does that even mean?

Please either a) actually fix things, b) advise users how they can fix things, or c) don't bother at all.

The idea of AFC is to help users get their articles into shape; these semi-automated declines/holds are not constructive, and create more work than they save.

Similarly, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dan Hyland - This needs to be wikified, by adding in all the wiki markup. - and then yes, a link to the guide. But, pause for a moment; imagine you are a new user, who simply wants to contribute to Wikipedia. They will have no idea what "wikified" means, and nor should they need to. It would take about 2 minutes to make the title bold, and to add a couple of Wikilinks, to show them how. And even if they do all that, will it then be OK? No, because of the poor references...and that is essential for a viable article, whereas formatting is not.

Perfection is not required, notability is.

When reviewing AFCs, you should be thinking, "would this article be deleted if it was live?" - if the answer is no, you should accept it, and preferably fix up the formatting.

There is no great rush to clear the queue; it is far more productive to help these new users get their articles into shape. Please consider this, and check back over the others you have put on hold or declined, and see if the reasons given will actually be useful to the new users. Thank you.  Chzz  ►  01:51, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Please review WP:AUTO and WP:BESTCOI. "do not write articles about yourself" is not an appropriate decline.  Chzz  ►  19:17, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Dammit Chzz, I'm just going to stick to the buttons now. You only complain when I don't use the tool. 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 19:49, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

I love WP:ACH

Thanks for making this! It's great! It really makes things simple! Thanks again! --Solar Rocker (talk) 12:58, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome! I'm glad that it works so well for you. I've just made a userbox at {{User ACH}} if you want to use it 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 15:04, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi

Yes I'd be interested in testing it, lol nice edit notice, a bit of Monty Python and the Holy Grain for the last part :P The instructions for the Holy Hand Grenade if I'm not mistaken. Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 11:11, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

I've just released it at WP:ACH. Eagerly awaiting your feedback. And yes it is the Holy Hand Grenade 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 11:16, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Alright thanks :) hehe, I love Monty Python. They really know their satire, that was one of the funniest films ever. Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 11:22, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm an idiot I forgot to download the zipped version lol, the popup said I was missing the msinet.ocx library, then I realised I downloaded the wrong one. Looks like a great program though. Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 11:29, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Earlier we (IRC) were wondering why you had declined some pages that Chzz undid. I now know; it takes so much effort to do all the pages, it's much easier to reject it. Hopefully this will mean that more pages won't be time consuming.
I also noted the backlog earlier, hopefully this will aid the process. 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 11:33, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
I might have been a bit biased and over-zealous. I can't move the framework files to system32 so what do I do? :/
Can you run it as an administrator? Often you need to do this for the first time, to register the libraries. 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 11:40, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Can't do that, tried it. :/ Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 22:33, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok, try use the third link (dropbox3) 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 15:34, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't work either. They blocked the website now could you possibly host dropbox3 on Wikimedia Uploads it's the only one I can downlaod from :/ sorry for the long reply school's back in session Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 02:32, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Wikimedia doesn't accept .zips. You could try use a proxy. If you find another file host that you can download from, tell me, and I'll upload it. (Note that I am going away camping in a few hours for three weeks.) 930913 (Congratulate/Complaints) 02:54, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
The NSWDET already blocked like 2/3 of the proxies in existence so finding one is hard, but Sourceforge.net still works. Enjoy camping. Fridae'§Doom | Spare your time? 07:01, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
