Per the official credits provided by Billboard here, the "Show Me Love" sample was written by Fred Allan and George McFarlane. This is also supported by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) who administer the publishing rights for the song. The records can be seen here. Although a google search shows some coverage of G Syier Hawkins Brown co-writing "Show Me Love", coverage only starts to appear in relation to Beyonce sampling the song on "Break My Soul". There's precious little, if any, mention of Hawkins working on the song before this. He's not credited in any official capacity other than him claiming to have worked on the song. Its entirely possible that Hawkins worked on the song, but for whatever reason he isn't credited. Considering that ASCAP collect royalties for the song and pay them to the writers and Hawkins isn't listed, it would be improper to include his name in the credits. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 21:13, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
