Purpose
Regarding your edit summary here[1] the purpose of acknowledging and accepting another editor's revert is to signal agreement so that there is no doubt between them or any third party as to any disagreement. Also, courtesy — I couldn't find the thank button and wanted to acknowledge your contribution and indirectly apologize for having reverted it in the first place.
