Because there are quite a few things that this term refers to, I've moved things around so that the disambiguation page is the first hit, and the article you've been editing is at Enemy Mine (novella). I didn't change anything else. Shadowjams (talk) 07:15, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on East Asian out-of-winter snowstorms of 2009, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

noteworthiness

You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 86.29.130.1 (talk) 02:33, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Categorization of Haiti earthquake articles.

I will concede your point on the main earthquake article. But I disagree about the Casualties and Response articles belonging in the main category. The guidelines in question are WP:SUBCAT and Eponymous categories. Your point is valid for the "Main" article. I disagree that the other two are "Main" articles, however. They are sub-articles to the main earthquake article. In this way, your argument that is on-point for the "Main" article does not work for the ones that are not the main article. Similarly, looking at the guidelines above, the second link about Eponymous categories is the exception to WP:SUBCAT that supports your position on the main category. For the other two, the key categories are *not* eponymous, not similarly named, and thus IMHO the exception does not apply.

If you can find a different exception to WP:SUBCAT that supports your position on the other two articles, please let me know of it.

I'll not revert you any more at this point, but if we remain in disagreement, then we'll need to take this to the talk pages of the two articles in question to get wider opinions. I suspect, however, that we may get a distinct lack of additional responses, as categories are an area of minor interest to many, many editors. - TexasAndroid (talk) 02:59, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was in my estimation that the other two were also the "main" articles for their categories. While not eponymous, they are similarly named to the categories in which they appear to serve as the root categories for.
"Casualties" - all the content of the category "people associated" were victims of the quake, hence casualties, whether they were killed, injured or trapped.
76.66.197.17 (talk) 04:39, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. At least 4 members of the category are not victims at all. George Hook, Wyclef Jean, Raymond Joseph, Denis O'Brien. I named the category very specifically to not exclude non-victims. The other category is Releif, while the other article is Response. Those are IMHO related, but not at all the same thing. - TexasAndroid (talk) 23:04, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I stand corrected on the people/casualty issue. I still think the other one is sufficiently intertwined to serve as the main article. 76.66.197.17 (talk) 05:50, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The category seems to be formulated in an overly broad manner, I have made a proposal to restrict its scope, see Category talk:People associated with the 2010 Haiti earthquake#Proposal - restriction of scope - 76.66.197.17 (talk) 11:27, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Centrism

Hi

At CFD 2010 January 1, Category:Centrism was renamed to Category:Centrist political parties.

Since this was a recent discussion, I thought it fair to notify you that at the suggestion of PanchoS I have added Category:Centrist political parties to a group nomination at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2010 March 8#Centrist_organizations. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 10:52, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
