Edit summaries

I just thought that I'd drop you a quick line to tell you that you don't have to put four tildes (~~~~) in an edit summary for an edit. That code inserts a signature when you post on a discussion page of some kind. Putting it at the end of the edit summary does nothing but add to the length of the summary. If you have any questions, take a look at Wikipedia:Signatures. Imzadi 1979  21:25, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. We therefore have to use the numerical IP address to identify them. Such an IP address can be shared by several users. If you are an anonymous user and feel that irrelevant comments have been directed at you, please create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other anonymous users.
