Suggestions for Turkey?
Hello,
I see you have made Talk:Air_pollution_in_the_United_Kingdom#Suggestions_for_improvements
I don't usually edit UK articles as I guess there are more editors interested in UK than Turkey where I live - so I tend to edit Turkey articles.
It has been a while since I brought Air pollution in Turkey up to "good" standard so if you have time it would be great if you could comment on the talk page on anything that needs improvement (or of course edit directly). As unlike me you are a subject expert I am sure you will spot things I did not.

Hi 45154james! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - Yes, Lave’s idea was revolutionary at his time in that he noticed the relationship between respiratory diseases and air pollution as early as 1970s. Now that it’s 2020s, IMHO most diseases, if not all, are caused by (air) pollution

Air pollution topics
Hi there! It’s great improvement that you’ve made to Air pollution measurement. The page Particulates now lacks a section about measurement. It would be really great if serious editors like you can help creating it. There are also pages that I thought of creating as well (see my User page), but just can’t find the time to read the many manual and instructions on creating new page. Maybe you can help? I have some ideas in my Sandbox too, feel free to incorporate any of them into any pollution topics that you see fit (some of them are pretty preliminary though). - Hi, I'll certainly help if I can. I spent a lot of time on Air pollution measurement. There was always a question in my mind over whether measurements are best covered on the individual pollutant pages or all together in that single article. I think it is quite useful to have a single-page overview comparing measurements of all the pollutants, since some measurement techniques are used for multiple pollutants. Equally, if you are reading the Particulates article, you want to know how those are measured. Maybe just a short section in Particulates referring to the main article?
- You have some great ideas for new articles. I can certainly help you start some of these if there are ones you see as priorities. "Dust" is certainly a very big topic. 45154james (talk) 08:54, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

Maybe Construction dust, On-tool extraction, Local exhaust ventilation and Health impacts of renovation seem more important and are easier ones to start with? - I see there are a few measurement methods mentioned. Just curious. Does any of them measure particle number? Or, particle number is measured by other methods? And what do you think about satellite measurement? It seems that it better reflects the air quality of a large area as a whole. --Dustfreeworld (talk) 13:29, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- The short answer is that "particle number" is not measured or talked about that often outside academic research. It's mostly used for ultrafine particulates, which is a developing area on which relatively little work has been done (compared to the amount of research on say PM2.5 and PM10). Condensation particle counters can be used to measure particle number. I don't think I mentioned them in Air pollution measurement but I should (and will). - I don't think Metal dust is the same as Metal swarf. I would say swarf is visibly obvious fragments of worked metal, whereas metal dust could be right down to very small particulate sizes. (I'm thinking non-exhaust emissions from brake dust and vehicle parts.) The (health) effects would be very different: I don't think you could breathe in swarf without it (say) sticking in your throat, but you can certainly breathe in fine metal dust as a form of particulate pollution. - Oh yes. Then it’s probably justify for metal dust to have it’s own page. I think construction and heavy industries (e.g. bridge building and ship making) are generating huge amount of metal dust and swarf as well. They use tonnes of metal and I believe the particles generated by grinding machines, power tools, etc. can be very very small. --Dustfreeworld (talk) 08:54, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
