With regard to the name(s) of Moorpark High School at 280 Casey Road, Moorpark,

The original high school was named Moorpark Memorial Union High School and was dedicated to Moorpark's fallen servicemen during WWI. This name lasted until approximately 1981 when the "Memorial" was removed. During the 1981-1982 school year, the school was called Moorpark Union High School. As a member of the class of '82, I have my MUHS diploma, which clearly states "Moorpark Union High School." A quick look at any diploma prior to 1982 will show Moorpark Memorial Union High School.

Moorpark High School Names since 1920

Moorpark High School has been called, "Moorpark Memorial Union High School," "Moorpark Union High School" and, of course, "Moorpark High School." There has been a previous user talk entry that referred to Moorpark High School as "Memorial Union High School." The old campus at 280 Casey Road, Moorpark had the letters MUHS above the stands of the school stadium. This stadium was completed in the 1950s. The Moorpark High School yearbook for 1955 reads, "Moorpark Union High School" while the 1954 yearbook reads, "Moorpark Memorial Union High School."
