Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Papaver somniferum does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.

The edit summary appears in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! ► Philg88 ◄ talk 10:29, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Philg88,
Thanks for getting in touch and thank you for all the work you do for Wikipedia. My apologies for not providing an edit summary - I am barely computer literate, and my ability to edit to Wikipedia is very rudimentary. I added the 'cocaine = snow' reference as it acts as a counterpoint to the 'poppy = opium = sleep' mentioned in the article. It is almost 20 years since I read this factoid and chasing down the reference is a bit time consuming for me.
Anyway, you have prompted me to improve my Wikipedia skills. I see the cocaine reference has been removed which is fine by me.
Best wishes
John (NZ)
PS Apologies for posting this on your talk page. I attempted to delete it once I realized my mistake but was overridden. I am sure that you will know what to do : )
PPS A quick web search turned up a discussion of the 'snow = cocaine' reference in the blog Turn Me On Dead Man. The writer's argument seems credible, although whether it is worth including is another matter.
Hi John, no problem with the post. I've written a note on my talk page about the issue, on which you are welcome to comment. Cheers, ► Philg88 ◄ talk 05:24, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Fenugreek, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- DonIago (talk) 20:49, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Happy with revision as I added the sprout mention to a paragraph on fenugreek seeds. As this concerns itself with the seeds use in Indian cuisine it is not an appropriate location for this information. Also, in the first paragraph in the section on cuisine, sprouts are already mentioned. This is an adequate reference to this form of cuisine. --203.114.167.88 (talk) 21:11, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If the information you added is supported by a reference that's already used you can add it before that reference. If not you'll still need to provide one. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 21:44, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Thanks for adding a reference to Cradock's obituary to Brasenose College, Oxford. I have moved it to List of Principals of Brasenose College, Oxford as it contains general information about Cradock, rather than supporting the text of the main article. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.TSventon (talk) 11:06, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
