• Hello User:Adakiko. I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that when a person pleads guilty, they are convicted. This National Post article does use the phrase "Ana Bailao has been convicted". Paul Erik ^{(talk)(contribs)} 23:19, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

• @Paul Erik: Not sure where to look. Wikt:convict suggests to be done by a judicial body. Maybe after one pleads, the court approving it may be a conviction? [https://www.tkevinwilsonlawyer.com/library/how-to-decide-whether-to-plead-guilty-or-go-to-trial.cfm states: Conviction. You will be convicted of committing the crime when you plead guilty. You will be sentenced to some punishment by the judge. Depending on the offense, there could be a mandatory prison sentence. I'll revert my edit. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 23:26, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
