Hearts on Noses (HoNs) Mini Pig Sanctuary is a charity-supported shelter for Miniature pigs, based in Mission, British Columbia.[1]
HoNs was established in 1999 as a sanctuary for pigs. "Mini pigs" have been a popular pet since the 1980s; however, not all such companion animals remain safely and caringly housed, and some suffer cruelty and neglect - hence the need for the sanctuary.[2] It serves in particular as a home for pigs who have been injured, abused, neglected or abandoned.
Hearts on Noses maintains a stable and healthy environment, offering an appropriate and peaceful setting in which pigs can live and socialize for the remainder of their lives. In addition to over 40 pigs, the sanctuary also cares for horses, cats, a dog, and a turtle on their grounds, which extend over 22 paddocks.[3][4][5]
