I'm a history buff and independent researcher interested primarily in the history of the Latter Day Saint movement, especially Joseph Smith, the Mormon pioneers and the State of Deseret, and Mormon fundamentalism. I'm also interested more broadly in the history of religion in the United States, the Second Great Awakening, Jacksonian democracy, and Manifest Destiny.
