Sajjad Naumani (Urdu: سجاد نعمانئ) is an Indian, Islamic scholar, and author of many books in various languages. He was one of the most important theorists of the revivalist movement.
Family Background
He is a descendant of a distinguished family of Ulama and scholars with ancestral roots from Turkey. His father – Maulana Manzoor Nomani was a renowned Islamic scholar, theologian, journalist, writer,and social activist. He conveyed important and well-balanced Islamic views to masses through Al-Furqan – an Urdu monthly launched in 1933 – for more than five decades. This magazine is still in circulation.
