Anthony Peter Heaney (born June 21, 1976) also known as Tony Heaney, was an Irish actor of film, stage, television, radio and musical theatre, now retired. His notable roles include work on many Irish and British programs Including british medical show Casualty, Fair City, Angela's Ashes and Braveheart. He also acted on stage in limerick city and in Birmingham and London.(1997–2003).

Early life

growing up in limerick city Anthony had aspirations to become a professional stage thespian, and dabbled in a number of low key performances for years. How ever disaster struck when his father dies tragically. After years of training, working and eventually running his own bar he decided that he needed something stronger in his life to give it meaning and He decided instead to go back to school and study medicine, he completed one year in university of Birmingham but this did not work out after the loss of his partner. He went back into the entertainment industry and continued working in pubs and clubs. He did this to make money to go travel Europe for several years before returning home to Ireland.

While travelling Europe and visiting many cities he kept himself afloat by trying his hand at a variety of jobs, including plumber's assistant, veterinary janitor, day care counselor, waiter, construction laborer. After traveling he returned home and decided to give medicine another try. It only took several years of hard work and exams before he landed a job as a pediatric nurse.

Acting Career

Anthony began his acting career with the limerick school of acting [1] at the age of 16. although not the brightest student and erratically showing up he managed to be a part of every play.

Anthony began a short lived career with RLO Radio Limerick One [2] as a weekend movie and occasional weather reporter.

Anthony's role as Artful Dodger would be the highlight of his acting career. He initially his first big role extremely difficult to adjust to and often classed with the rehearsal schedule but never the less his performance was considered outstanding, and as such went on to co star in west end production of Hamlet in a new production for the Donmar Warehouse, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

From July 26 through August 30, 2006, Brendon co-starred with Noah Wyle in the play Lobster Alice, in Los Angeles.

That same year, Brendon reunited with his former Buffy on-screen sweetheart, Charisma Carpenter, in the ABC Family TV movie Relative Chaos.

At a pop culture expo in Sydney, October 2007, he mentioned that he would be joining the cast of the CBS crime drama Criminal Minds as Penelope Garcia's love interest.[3] Since that time he has been in several episodes playing FBI technical analyst Kevin Lynch and it seems as if he will be making random appearances in upcoming episodes.

He played the role of Crumpet the Elf in David Sedaris’ one man show, The Santaland Diaries, which ran from November 20-December 20, 2009 at the The Blank Theatre's 2nd Stage in Hollywood,CA.

He can currently be seen in the Blank production of Christopher Durang's play, Why Torture Is Wrong, And The People Who Love Them, running through March 14, 2010 at the Stella Adler Theater in Hollywood.

Personal life

In 2008, Anthony married Yue Lie. The couple have one daughter known as Jaimy who was born in May 2008.

On March Anthony share in the euro millions, and won €640,250 from which he bought a 4 bedroom house in Kilkenny.

Anthony played a major part in the helping the elderly and homeless and works volunteering in soup kitchens in Kilkenny and Co. Carlow on most week ends and has been beneficial in raising funds to aid the needy. He has worked with goal and is an active green peace member.
