Use

Twinkle has a lot of different uses. Here are the uses. Most of the features below are very obvious. The below is optional to read

Article

The most common features are in the article namespace. Note, this goes for all articles without a prefix.

CSD

CSD or Speedy Deletion is an option in Twinkle. To use it, just click on CSD. A menu should pop up and you choose which speedy deletion criteria it matches. Speedy deletion is only used if it matches the strict criteria for speedy deletion. For example: a hoax.

PROD

Twinkle has 3 deletion options, the 2nd being Proposed deletion. Proposed deletion is a way to suggest an article for uncontroversial deletion. It is a shortcut to the normal deletion review process (AfD), and a fallback for deletion proposals that do not meet the strict criteria for speedy deletion.

XFD

The third deletion option, Anything for deletion. This can be used for anything. For example (Categories, Templates, Redirects and the usual article).

RPP

Requesting Page protection is a feature in Twinkle to request page protection of course! Once you click on it. Enter the type of protection and reason. See WP:PP. There, you can choose how to mark it. You can do it by requesting page protection to the Administrator Noticeboard(usually faster) or tagging the page.

Tag

This is one of the most used features in Twinkle. Once you click on it, there are several tags involving Cleanup tags, Content issues tags, or merge tags. Some of the tags require you to enter a reason. You can also choose to group the tags inside {{Multiple Issues}}.

Last

This feature allows you to see the last two differences in the History of the article.

Unlink

This feature unlinks every link pointing to the article. You can then select the articles you don't want to get linked from. Be sure to explain the reason as this is rarely used.

User Talk

ARV

Using this feature will automatically warn the user to administrators. Only use this in severe cases.

Warn

You can use this tool to warn the user about an edit. Choose the warning level and then the type of warning. We'll go through this stuff later here.

Wel

This tool is for welcoming users to the English Wikipedia. Open it up and select the type of welcome message you would like to give.

TB

Leave a talkback! If you are replying to his messages on a separate talk page. You can just leave a talkback stating that he has new messages. You can test this feature in my test account User:TheQ Tester.

Revisions

When viewing Revisions, there are some Twinkle options to go along with it.

Revert

There are 3 4 types of reverting options.

  • Restore this revision- Restores the selected revision
  • Rollback (vandal)- used to revert the selected revision and mark it as vandalism
  • Rollback (AGF)- used to revert the selected revision and mark it as good faith.
  • Rollback - used to revert the selected revision and mark it as neither.

Current
