I am a linguist who works at a university in Europe. I have been a Wikipedian for a number of years but recently created this account to monitor Conflicts of Interest in my field, particularly self-promotion. I intend to flag these instances to the wider Wikipedia community.

Current projects (for me to keep track):

1. Articles related to linguist Ghil'ad Zuckermann, who appears in disproportionate number of articles on Wikipedia (Revivalistics, Native tongue title, Language revitalization, inter alia). These contributions are often made by the same users (e.g. User:Banjol [1], User:FamkeKroes[2]). Many contributions to Zuckermann's page and related pages are from Adelaide, where Zuckermann lives and works.
2. Cases of self-citation without declaring COI according to Wikipedia:COI.
3. A number of other articles on my watchlist where I suspect self-promotion.
