'Tom Squitieri (Born Aug. 25, 1953) is a journalist who worked as a national and foreign reporter for USA Today from 1989 to 2005. During his years with the newspaper, he reported from the Pentagon as well as Iraq, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Turkey and Italy. Foreign assignments included an array of conflicts around the world, including the 1989 Panama invasion, Haiti (1991-1997), Northern Ireland, 1991, Gulf War (Iran-Iraq-Turkey), former Yugoslavia (1992-1996), African Great Lakes (1993-1994), Central Asia and Afghanistan (2001-2003), and the war in Iraq (2003-2004).; he covered the White House over the course of XX presidencies, including XXXXXXX.

Squitieri has made appearances on the NBC “Today Show,” MSNBC (including guest host), Fox, CNBC, Court Television, WJLA, WUSA, C-SPAN., PBS, CTV, CBC, Extra, the BBC, and TF1. Prior to working at USA Today, Squitieri was a Washington, D.C. based correspondent for the Boston Herald, Boston Business MagazineIS THIS THE SAME THING?, The Lowell (Mass) Sun and Thomson Newspapers.

As a journalist, he earned numerous honors, including three Overseas Press Club awards and three White House Correspondents awards for coverage of foreign affairs, including the 1993 genocide in Burundi.

Since resigning from USA Today in 2005 NEED TO DEAL WITH THIS IN AN OBJECTIVE WAY, Squitieri has worked as a media and public relations strategist. Additionally, he teaches a course at Washington & Jefferson College, his alma mater. He also writes for Foreign Policy Blogs, the Huffington Post, the Miami Herald International Edition and is a regular contributor to NewsMax.
