Klaus Schuster (* 11 July 1963 in Bruck an der Mur) is an Austrian writer (non-fiction), manager, management consultant, Executive Coach and motivational trainer.

Life

After completing his education and vocational training from 1978 to 1992 in a Styrian electrical store, Klaus Schuster began working in the banking sector. His management career began in 2001 at the Österreichische Volksbanken-Aktiengesellschaft ÖVAG (Austrian People's Bank). In the years from 2001 to 2003 he was a member of the management board of an ÖVAG company bank in Slovenia. From 2003 to 2006 he managed the takeover of the Serbian Trust Banka and took on responsibility for creating the new Serbian People's Bank (Volksbank Serbien) as a member of the management board.

From September 2007 until November 2011, Schuster was a member of the board of the Slovenian Managers Association and the first President of the Foreign Managers Section, which he helped to found. In November 2006 he founded his own consulting company located in Ljubljana where, in addition to corporate restructuring he also coaches executive managers.

Schuster received his Master of Science at the University of Hagen and went on to get his Master of Business Administration from the IEDC-Bled School of Management in Bled. In 2011 he received the IEDC-Bled School of ManagementAlumni Achievement Award.

From September 2013 to February 2016 Schuster was chairman of the board of the financially struggling Slovenian Factor Banka with a balance sheet total of a billion euros. Commissioned by the EU and the Slovenian government, he was asked to wind up the business activities of the bank to avoid the high defaults which would arise in bankruptcy, applying a model that was the first of its kind in Europe.[1][2]

Non-Fiction Author

Klaus Schuster's Management books have been published in German, English, Slovenian, Czech and Hungarian. His focus as an author is on "managers" as the main factors of success for their companies. His books, therefore, offer practical, rather than theoretical, advice on how to succeed and thrive in the pressures of the everyday corporate working environment.
