NCARE
The National Center for Agricultural Research and Extension (NCARE) is a research institution in Jordan NCARE consists of a main headquarter in Amman and eight regional centers located in Deir Alla,Ar Ramtha, Mafraq, Mshaggar, Rabba, Tafilah,Arabah in arabic also known as Wadi Araba and Shoubak. NCARE also operates 13 research stations representing different agro-ecological conditions and 13 extension field units throughout Jordan.[1]

Institutes Goals
1. Adopt the latest research findings from local and other sources for the purpose of improving agricultural production
2. Conservation, preservation, and sustainable use of natural resources
3. Achieve and maintain food sufficiency
4. Maintain ecological balance through sustainable use of availale resources without jeopardizing environmental status
Regional Research Centers
Deir Alla
Deir Alla research facility is working closely with farmers to provide them with new agricultural information and technologies suitable for the local area. They provide an open forum of discussion, questions to be asked and answers and suggested solutions are given to related on-farm problems.
Mafraq
This research center lies 45 km northeast of Amman and was established in 1968. The main problems the research facility is facing are the severe arid climate conditions and the salinity of the soil and water. The focus is to manage the saline water and to select fodder crops, some vegetables, and cereal that are suitable for growing in the region.
