I'm a zoologist by profession and I live in Whitewater, California. My research focuses on microscopic animals like nematodes and my wider interests include insects, birds, travel and photography. Wikipedia is very often useful to identify an interesting type of bug that you didn't encounter before, for example by allowing you to pinpoint which identification keys to search for in specialized biological literature databases. As a way of paying forward, I'm therefore contributing the more useful of my photographs to Wikimedia Commons and also contributing to the more technical writing for various groups animals that are not yet represented in great depth in Wikipedia.
