Kempinski Hotel Giardino di Costanza, Sicily

The Kempinski Hotel Giardino di Costanza belongs to the International group Kempinski Hotels, established in Berlin in 1897.

The Resort stands among rows of vineyards and olive groves in the western side of Sicily, near Mazara del Vallo, in the province of Trapani. The building is surrounded by 100,000 square metres of park and gardens with water features and has an outdoor and heated indoor pool, a gourmet restaurant, a 2100-square-metre Wellness Centre and Beauty SPA, and a private beach with seaside restaurant. The 91 spacious rooms and suites have terraces or balconies with a view of the gardens or countryside. There are 2 penthouse suites of 130 square metres, each with a 700-square-metre panoramic terrace and private pool.

The Resort is inspired by the architectural concept of the old Trapani “baglio”, a fortified farmhouse, and reflects the local culture and architecture. The Villa, built in 1860, located inside the Resort still conserves the original architectural features of the building: a quadrangular plan and an internal courtyards around.

"La corte di pietra", is a reminiscent of those mentioned by the Sicilian writer, Tomasi di Lampedusa, in his famous novel, The Leopard.

The Resort is entitled to Constance of Sicily, the last Hauteville. She is best known for the fact that at the age of 40, she gave birth in public to a son who became the future emperor Frederick II, undisputed protagonist of the Arab-Norman atmosphere, still today indelible in this part of the island.
