"Georgi Sugarev"

Georgi Sugarev was a Macedonian revolutionary born in Bitola Ottoman Macedonia in 1876. At an early age he left school and decided to join the [[Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organisation]]. He was trained in military combat and in 1901 become one of the leaders of the Demir Hisar cheta. With the assistance of vojvode Nikola Rusinski together they operated around the regions of Demir Hisar, Smilevo, and Bitola. Later in the early months of 1903 he become a delegate of the Smilevski Congress in Smilevo and was introduced to Dame Gruev. Georgi Sugarev participated in the battles near the villages of Smilevo, Gjavato, and the town of Veleshko. A Macedonian song was developed in honour of Georgi Sugarev. He later died in the village of Paralevo, Ottoman Macedonia in 1906.
