Tagatame no Alchemist[1]is a mobile game developed by Fuji & gumi Games,[2] a joint venture between Fuji Startup Ventures and Gumi. The game was released on January 28, 2016, for iOS and Android in Japan,[3] and received a worldwide release on November 13, 2017.[4] A browser based version was released on September 26, 2017, by DMM Games.[5]
It is a free-to-play mobile turn-based tactical RPG, Simulation based RPG which uses the gacha system used in several free-to-play mobile games to receive characters and items for equipping characters and getting stat bonuses.[6]
The game have been released in Japan and saw a global release soon after, with a Korean version being released on September 9, 2017. The Korean server shut down on October 8, 2019.[7][self-published source?]
Gameplay
The game is a tactical turn based RPG, with gameplay being similar to the Fire Emblem series. Players assemble a team from their characters list, with different characters having different mechanics to performance. They finish each level by defeating all of the enemies. There are additional missions, that offer rewards for completing them.[6]
Story
The story takes place in the continent of Babel. Two individuals, Nimul and Emmel have created Alchemy in their ambition to become like Gods. This resulted in humanity becoming close to extinction as a result of its use in war, with the kingdoms of Babel agreeing to create an alliance and forbid alchemy. For centuries, peace has been maintained, but changed in the year of 911 of the year of Babel, The Western Kingdom of Wratharis has brought back Alchemy, as an instrument of warfare. The other kingdoms responded by overthrowing Wratharis, bringing back peace once again, making alchemy disappear once again. 20 years have passed, with Alchemy resurfacing once more.[8][9]

An anime movie based on the game has been shown in Japan on June 14, 2019. It currently has a rating of 3.91 out of 5 on Yahoo Japan! Movies,[17] and 3.7 out of 5 on eiga.com (映画.com).[16] The movie has been produced by Satelight [18][19][user-generated source?] and distributed by Asmik Ace[20]
