Martin Conlon is a Glasgow based actor of Film and television. He is a method actor with a wide range of roles and acting styles in his portfolio. He recently appeared in Purple TV production 'Steelmen' which tells the story of the formation of Motherwell Football Club and its historic 1991 Scottish Cup win. Martin had to employ all his years of experience and stage craft during this production as he was asked to play a local ravenscraig steel worker, an official of Glencairns FC, an early Motherwell supporter as well as also playing a victorian gentlemen. Martin was praised for his various roles in the film with many critics particularly enjoying his understated performance and the gravitas he brought to the role. Critics have earmarked Martin as star of the future and there is no surprise that his odds have been drastically shortened in the betting for the next James Bond. Martin is also currently studying for a PHD in acting. Martin Conlon attributes his success to "hard work, hard work and then some more hard work" and has this to say to any potential young jobbing actor;

     "During my career as an actor, I've been asked to play a lot of different roles, roles that I thought should have went to someone else but then they went to me and I realised I was the correct professional actor the the director wanted for the part and whilst I sometimes become embarrassed thinking about my success I then realise that its because i've put so much in that I get so much out of it. So any young actor out there listening to me who dreams of success, you too can achieve it and you just have to be prepared to put the work in although that being said my story is one in a million and its not always guaranteed that even if you were to put the same amount of work into acting as I put in that you would definitely get the same career and in that case I would maybe look at doing something different to fall back on. Basically its about taking the right role and sometimes the hardest role to play is real life or a part when i'm playing someone who isn't really really well built and then you have to absolutely really nail it and try and make the audience not look at your body coz its obvious your built".

Martin Conlon is currently taking bookings for 2019 and an agent.
