King William's War
- 1695 24 May - French Privateer Bonne, captained by Pierre Maisonnat dit Baptiste, is captured in Migascor harbour by an English frigate, however Baptiste and his crew escape onshore and the Bonne later sinks.
American Revolutionary War
- 1775 17 November - Massachusetts privateers raid Charlottetown, St. John's Island
- 1782 28-29 May - HMS Observer captures the American privateer Jack off Halifax (details)
- 1782 1 July - Five American privateer crews raid and destroy Lunenburg, Nova Scotia
Napoleonic Wars
- 1800 - Nova Scotia privateer brig Rover captures the Spanish schooner Santa Rita and two gunboats off Venezuela
- 1800 17 October - Confiance, captained by Robert Surcouf, captures the East Indiaman Kent in the Bay of Bengal
- 1807 March to 1808 31 January - Revenant, captained by Robert Surcouf, cruises the Indian Ocean taking 16 prizes
War of 1812
- 1813 10 June - American privateer Thomas captures the Nova Scotia privater Liverpool Packet
- 1813 4 October - USRC Vigilant captures the British privateer Dart off Block Island, Rhode Island[1]
- 1813 5 October - HMS Fantome and HMS Epervier recapture Liverpool Packet, then sailing under the name Portsmouth Packet, off Mount Desert Island, Maine

- 1861 2-3 June - Confederate privateer Savannah captures the brig Joseph, and is then in turn captured by the USS Perry
