== About Me ==

I am on a Wikibreak but I will occasionally do some editing here and there.

Hello. I am ManekiNeko. I previously contributed for a few days under the IP address 24.19.0.114, followed by 66.235.6.229 a few days later. (new location). Then on 22 August 2005, I decided a user account would be a better idea, so from this point on you should see me as ManekiNeko, unless I accidentally forget to log in.

Full disclosure: I had done a small bit of editing prior to August 2005 from another account. I chose not to use it in the August edits of the Asperger's Syndrome page, as I was concerned about revealing my identity to a particular user. (My other account has a username that is easily connected to me in the real world.) But I rather like ManekiNeko as a user name, so I will probably drop the old account entirely.

I am a graduate student, studying history. I am a geek and proud of it.

The user name ManekiNeko

A typical maneki neko, for good luck.

On the left you can see a picture of a typical maneki neko. The maneki neko, or beckoning cat, is a good luck symbol that is typically found in Japanese shops. There are two three on the shelf in front of me, as I type. I like them, so I thought it would make a nice user name.

  • Looking for something to edit? Think of a typo that you see frequently. (For example, "Seatle" or "Washignton".) Then go to Google and search for that typo in "site:wikipedia.org". Then clean it up wherever you find it. (This is the source of a lot of my minor edits.) See also Wikipedia:Typo. Enjoy!
