Lambtron

Contributing editor, photographer and composer

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." ā€”Mahatma Gandhi

About me

I'm Lambtron, a contributor here at š¯’²ikipedia. My interests include theatre and dance (especially acro and ballet), music synthesis, and photography and other graphic arts. Over the years, I've been enthusiastically involved in related activities such as photographing live performances, poster and web design, and music composition. I'm also interested in various technical subjects, including real-time operating systems, video processing and process control.

I'm retired now, but in my professional work I was often called upon to create simple illustrations and use plain-spoken language to explain complex topics. The skills I used there translate well to Wikipedia, where I spend much of my time clarifying explanations, improving organization, and enhancing articles with images.

Music contributions

Discerning listeners will notice that my progressive electronic compositions (created with LMMS) strive to take them on sonic journeys with evolving, multi-layered music. This is in contrast to EDM, which depends heavily on repetitive loops. Also, I tend to use melodic beats to create rhythmic structure and reserve percussion primarily for thematic punctuation. These strategies greatly increase the time and craftsmanship required for songwriting, but IMO the result proves the effort worthwhile. On the other hand, Margaret Hungerford would probably tell you that beauty is in the ear of the beholder and suggest that you don some good headphones and judge for yourself:

Image contributions

My unique position as pro bono photographer of performance artists has allowed me to donate numerous dance images to Wikimedia Commons; I've displayed a few below for your enjoyment. I've also contributed many technical diagrams and photographs, but none are shown here because I expect they would (or at least should) not elicit joy in you or my other valued visitors.
