- A scientific programmer living in Bergen, Norway, though I'm originally from the UK.
- A lapsed geoscientist; I have a PhD in sedimentology and about 25 years of experience in exploration and reservoir geoscience.
- A former resident of Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia and Calgary, Alberta in Canada, and a Canadian citizen.
- Founder of Software Underground, a non-profit for subsurface professionals.
- Previously the founder of Agile Scientific (now closed) and co-founder of The HUB South Shore, a coworking space in Nova Scotia.
