It's a not exhaustive overview of Boys love publishers and their publications and i summarizing so no full quote citation here :p
Magazine Magazine
Magazine Magazine belongs to Sun Publishing and is the first to have proposed Boys love manga in Japan through its magazine June launched in October 1978. Numerous females mangaka published there as Akimi Yoshida. The bimonthly Comic June is the current derivate of the original title.
Comment:Need to check if Comic June is still running.
The publishers owns others Yaoi magazines:
- Boy Pierce, monthly then bymonthly rather hot started in 1997
- Game Pierce, started in February 2002 then renamed Comic Game Pierce
- Boy's Love, bimonthly started in August 2004
- Koi June, launched in April 2006 with an irregular publication rhythm 3 - 4 issue per year
Fellowing the success of the magazine of the same name, June became a synonym of not much explicit masculine homosexual love stories before people preferred the terms Boys love.
Aside of that, Magazine Magazine offers also magazines destinate to masculine public with hentai stories.
Comment: again need to check the current status of those magazines.
Biblos & Libre Publishing
Created in 1988 by Seiji Biblos, the publisher became a Boys love reference
Many authors contributed mainly in:
- BExBOY, monthly started on March 1993
- Be-Boy Gold, bimonthly with more explicit contents + one-shot stories
- Junkies! Boy, biyearly
- Zero, biyearly, fantastic & Sci-fi genre stories with innuendo but all published authors are of the Yaoi genre.
There are also bimonthly anthologies:
- B-Boys Zip
- Be Boys LUV
And novel magazines:
- Shôsetsu BExBOY, monthly
- Shôsetsu BEaST, quarterly with more explicit content
Many females yaoi authors also made illustrations for those novels.
Among the authors, You Higuri, Setona Mizushiro before her works on Shojo and Josei, Fumi Yoshinaga, Sanami Matoh, Kazuma Kodaka & Ayano Yamane published works with Biblos.
Not finished that publisher yet, taking a breather
The bankruptcy of the publisher "Hekitensha" crippled with debts provoked a chain reaction and one month later in April 2006, "Biblos" which was a subsidiary of the former also declared bankruptcy. All publication were put on definite hiatus for months until "Animate" acquired Biblos in the same year and renamed it "Libre Publishing". Some magazines were kept identically like BExBOY or BexBoy Gold, others took much more time before re-appearing like Junk!. Zero re-appeared on Mai 2008 under the name Kurofune Zero and the anthology B-Boy LUV became B-Boy Phoenix.
All series under publications resumed afterward in Japan as in its outside (for those licensed). Licensing issues still sometimes appear like for the US publisher Central Park Media's Be Beautiful collection as the publisher seems to not have re-negotiated its licensing when Libre Publishing took over Biblos.
Some titles were not kept when Libre Publishing took over Biblos like for Sanami Matoh's Fake which was re-published by Mediation.
Tokuma Shoten

Generalist publisher better know for publishing studio Ghibli but it still own some boys love magazines for females readers.
- Chara bimonthly
- Chara Selection bimonthly more explicite
- Shôsetsu Chara quaterly novels magazine
=> Most well know in France of Chara magazines is Kazuya Minekura (Just!!,Shiritsu araiso kôtôgakko seitokai shikkôbu and Wild Adapter). Other author are Ichiko Ima and Ayano Yamame (Crimson Spell in Chara Selection).
Ôtô Shobô & Kaiohsha
Ôtô Shobô started in July 1990 with the monthly GUST which became quickly one of the most popular yaoi magazine. That publisher also edited others magazines.
- Generous Kiss, bimonthly started in Mai 1993, anthology with one-shots stories
- GUST Gem, anthology
- GUST Mania, anthology
In 2002 GUST & GUST MANIA ceased publication and are acquired by the publisher Kaiohsha a subsidiary of Bunshaka a rather specialized in masculine adult manga. Ôtô Shobô continued however to publish yaoi in there collection Gust comics.
In 2003 Kaiohsha relaunched the monthly GUST as Gush and bimonthly GUST Mania and launched the bimonthly Chips between 2004 & 2006.

- Asuka Ciel, bimonthly soft yaoi, started as a supplement of the magazine Shōjo Asuka in September 1993 before becoming a full fledged one on Mai 1994.
Asuka Ciel particularity is to have a fan club which organizes party/soirée and meetings published mangaka.
- The Ruby, monthly shorts stories (novels) started in November 2006. The collection Ruby Bunko offered until that date yaoi novels.
Comment: Don't know how to link Ruby Bunko & The Ruby. I guess the former was the lone offer in yaoi stories in novels format until they created this magazines offered short stories but it need verification as it really blurry.
Hōbunsha
- Hanaoto, monthly, rather adult, for amateurs of rather well conceived plots/stories with romantic loves.
- CitaCita, bimonthly started in november 2006

- Hanaoto Gorgeous, Defunct, anthology

Shinshokan
- Dear+ Started in 1997 then changed to bimonthly and finally monthly in 2003.
Similar to the Asuka Ciel with which they share some authors. Very soft yaoi, romantic & non-explicit.
Color by Eiki Eiki & Taishi Zaou (pseudonym of Mikiyo Tsuda for yaoi) was serialized in it.
- Shōsetsu Dear+, Quarterly novels
- Boy's Jam, started in July 2005.
And the others
- Tōsuisha which merged all its yaoi publications (Ichisuki, Racish,Revival) into its more general magazine Ichiraci offering at the same time shōjo & yaoi.
- Ohzora Shuppan with both josei & yaoi magazines like Harlekin or Cool-B and starting from March 2007 mellow mellow.
- Mediation with Hug including serialization of Kazuma Kodaka's Border and Sanami Matoh's sequel of Fake.
- Media Work started ClaCla in October 2007.
