New account

Hi Kevin. I notice you've created an alt account, User:Slather. This is just a note to encourage you to carefully read the appropriate policy, as it's very easy to fall foul of the rules if you aren't careful. Having more than one account isn't forbidden per se, but there are few reasons for needing one - I'd certainly be wary of trying to operate an account solely for anti-vandalism purposes when my main account is capable of doing that and lots more. You've done everything right so far (linking the userpages and avoiding making any edits in the same areas); this is just a call for you to take care. Yunshui  08:58, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Vandals

You're doing well with the anti-vandalism adoption page - I've marked your most recent efforts for you. Yunshui  09:40, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Hi ツ I've found your page because of your reversion of my good edit at Arjun Vajpai. I've ended up becoming a vandal fighter also and I agree with your philosophy of not liking those limply worded templates. I've enjoyed reading your pages. Thanks for catching your mistake before you warned me. I probably would have had a kitten... I'm probably too soft-hearted to take a scolding. Wishing you all the best, peace.

Fylbecatulous talk 01:34, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

I just moved this to your award page. Please just delete this one if you want or keep both. I thought this was going on your awards page, but I'll blame the fact it landed on your talk page instead on Wikilove. ツ Fylbecatulous talk 01:49, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Fylbecatulous, Please take a look at this page. Cheers,Kevin12xd... | speak up | take a peek | email me 01:54, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Your note on my talk page

Hey Kevin. You put a note on my talk page about one of my edits being unconstructive, but didn't say which one. But all the edits I've made are for the same purpose, to correct a disruptive edit that 203.217.29.182 has made in many articles; probably over 100. See 203's talk page. The edtior was just blocked for ignoring the warnings. I've gone back a month so far in 203's edit history to revert all the articles he did it in, but I think there are many more. Jayron32's an admin; he reverted a lot of them himself, but there are many earlier ones. Thanks. You can reply here; I'll follow this thread. And if you feel like helping me correct the remaining articles I haven't gotten to yet, let me know. ;) --76.189.123.142 (talk) 23:12, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

First of all, thank you for your timely response. It's rare that an IP responds to a post I put on their talkpage. Second of all, I noticed you changed a section from "Brooklyn in the USA" to just "Brooklyn". As you may know, Wikipedia's default warning templates are inaccurate and crappy, so the template I gave you was pretty innappropriate. Furthermore, I guess I didn't take enough time to look at your edit summary, so I apologize for that. All in a sentence, I wanted to:
  • warn you with a warning that sucked
  • revert your good-faith edit.

To simplify things, thanks for responding, sorry for the bad template, and I hope you will continue to do what you are doing. The only thing I dissapprove of is this. Cheers, Kevin12xd... | speak up | take a peek | email me 23:21, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Haha, you're welcome. ;) There are soooo many to fix that I'm trying to do them quickly, so if you spot any where some other bad content was inadvertantly put back in the process, it wasn't intentional. Please feel free to correct anything like that. My only purpose is getting rid of all the WP:USPLACE violations in the ledes, where IP 203 inappropriately changed "in (city), (state)" to "in (city), in the U.S. state of (state). Thanks, Kevin. --76.189.123.142 (talk) 23:29, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
I took out "United States" from that Brooklyn article. It's not to be used for articles about U.S. places, per WP:USPLACE. If there's something else wrong that I'm missing, feel free to fix it. Btw, WP:USPLACE mentions: "Neighborhoods within New York City have been identified by the standard neighborhood, borough, where "borough" is one of the five boroughs: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens or Staten Island." One other note... it's typically not a good idea to put any type of warning template on another user's talk page over a single good-faith edit. If you have a question about an edit, it's better to simply ask the editor about it rather than leaving a template, especially one that gives no indication what edit you're even referring to. It's a good way to anger some editors. And even though my edit comment clearly cited WP policy and explained the issue with IP 203, you reverted it without no explanation. You should avoid doing that. Your account shows you've been editing for just a few months, so things like this will come with time. I've been editing as an IP for over four years. But you sound like a good guy with a passion for editing, so that's great. --76.189.123.142 (talk) 23:44, 12 December 2012 (UTC) 01:01, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
FYI... If you look at the nine-year edit history of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, you'll see that the United States reference was never included in the lede until IP 203 incorrectly added it on October 30, 2012.[1] 203 did it in many, many other articles and was ultimately blocked for ignoring warnings to stop doing it. --76.189.123.142 (talk) 01:07, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Battle of Samakh

Hi can you explain why you reverted this edit [2] The template documentation seems to be clear on the subject quote - The larger conflict containing the event described in the article. For battles or campaigns, this should be the war during which the event takes place; for particularly large wars, this may include a theatre (e.g. "the Eastern Front of World War II"). For wars, the parameter may be used to link to a larger group of wars (e.g. the Italian War of 1521–26 to the Italian Wars). It may be necessary to insert "the" before the name of the war for proper grammar. Jim Sweeney (talk) 23:15, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know Jim. My initial reaction was that the removal of the links were uncalled for and wasn't very constructive. I will revert my edit. Cheers, Kevin12xd... | speak up | take a peek | email me 23:23, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

inquiry from 206.248.138.250

Kevin, I have really dumb question: did you leave a message for me on the talk page associated with my IP address ? I've never received any messages from any wikipedians before, and I found it confusing how it just sort of popped up in the middle of things. If you can confirm this (on my talk page, again), I'll assume you'll want to delete this inquiry from your talk page. Cheers, 206.248.138.250 (talk) 00:46, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I've seen some good anti-vandal work coming from your direction recently; keep it up. Yunshui  08:39, 14 December 2012 (UTC)
By the way (I didn't know this until a moment ago myself) the Wikilove shortcut, which most people use for giving awards, apparently automatically locates your user talkpage and places the award there, no matter which user subpage you activate it on. I was on your awards page when I created this barnstar, but it still ended up here. Just thought you'd like to know, in case it appeared people were ignoring your request at the top of the page. Ways to improve Markham Theatre

Hi, I'm Kudpung. Kevin12xd, thanks for creating Markham Theatre!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please try to add more sources that assert notability of this theatre.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Hi!, I just changed some names in the page, because in the cast of Homeland there weren't a few names that actually appear in the SAG list of nominees — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.128.251.78 (talk) 21:14, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

I made some changes in the headland of Boardwalk Empire because some of the actors mentioned in that list, they don't even appear in the season 3 of the series, I'm talking specially about Michael Pitt, Aleksa Palladino among others :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.128.251.78 (talk) 21:17, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, english is not my language so I didn't understand the first thing you said about signing, I want to clarify that I removed some of the names because in the page of the Screen Actors Guild Awards those names doesn't appear, and a lot of the actores mentioned are not even mentioned in the series

Hi! I just putted because when I watched the movie *sighs* I saw that comment as a intresting opinion, you see, everybody relates the song with drugs, even in the article, so I would be very pleased of you undoing what you did — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.230.180.162 (talk) 00:52, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for not explaining very well, what I say is that I put in the article Lucy in the sky with diamonds a fact, like everything in the section `Legacy` I ask you to stop or correct conjuges form for entering the phrase correctly please — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.230.180.162 (talk) 01:01, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

I'm a noob, I admit, but in this movie they say that: " Mr. Popper: Picture yourself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies.

Mrs. Van Gundy: I am sorry Mr. Popper, I don’t do drugs.

Mr. Popper: I should’ve tried Strawberry fields.

" — Mr. Popper’s Penguins (2011). http://theonewithamanda.tumblr.com/

You know it does not involve it's movie for kids (things are that way in this generation)

Please try to coperate

Please be more careful

Re. this edit; there was an explanation for why that content was removed: an IP and an account replaced the article's content with huge chunks of text from the Danny Elfman article. In your edit, you restored vandalism which had copied the Elfman article's contents several times over. (The Bourne Identity (novel) article wasn't the only target - my talk page was hit hardest of all, with nearly 470 kb of text! It took several minutes to recover after I reverted the vandalism, so I won't link the edit here.) Please take greater care when reverting vandalism in the future. --Dylan620 (I'm all ears) 01:43, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. I thought I had gotten rid of a massive section blanking. Kevin12xd... | speak up | take a peek | email me 02:09, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Rollback is yours.

Ok Kevin - you've got rollback rights now. Use with caution (I recommend using Twinkle even when you've got rollback - I do - since the edit summary function is often useful), and congratulations. Yunshui  07:53, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Please think first

Please think before deleting. While this deletion might be considered an improvement (I don't much like these "In popular literature" kinds of content myself), the edit comment clearly is not appropriate. The text itself identifies the source. A formal citation of that source is not really a required element to be a valid contribution. LeadSongDog come howl! 17:55, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Kansas legislative page

You had reverted back changes I had made to the Kansas House of Representatives under my IP vs. logging in. I redid the changes as they are accurate, not vandalism. There were resignations in the legislature that triggered appointments. I filled those in to make the page accurate. -- Mpirner

December 2012

Hello, I'm Yankees76. I noticed that you recently removed some content from MusclePharm without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Yankees76 Talk 21:27, 19 December 2012 (UTC)

You just deleted 2,518 bytes of sourced material from the MusclePharm page. I'm assuming it's an error, or perhaps a snap decision based on the note from a single purpose account (above), who has removed this material since December 4 without bothering to provide a reasonable explanation or discuss the edits on the article talk page. Even the explanation above by user 107.1.249.162 makes no sense, because if the edits to this article's legal issues section done to make it "most current and accurate", there would be more material added to the article explaining the outcomes of the legal actions, rather than edits removing the material altogether - especially considering the majority of this subjects coverage by reliable sources (and not company generated press releases which make up the other 70% of "sources" in the article) are about their legal and financial situation.
Either way I've restored the content. I didn't honestly read your talkpage notice regarding your dislike of templated messages, so don't take offence that I left you one. I use them with all editors in simple edit/vandalism/brain fart situations so that others don't take my own wording the wrong way. Thanks. --Yankees76 Talk 21:39, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
Okay, thank you for elaborating. I hadn't looked at the situation that way prior to your message regarding this matter, so thank you. Cheers! Kevin12xd... | speak up | take a peek | email me 01:36, 20 December 2012 (UTC)
