Veronique Renard (also known as Pantau) is a writer and activist. She was born on 26 May 1965 to a business family near Utrecht in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In the spring of 2000, Renard moved to India and lived in the hometown of the Dalai Lama for seven years in order to create awareness in the West regarding the Tibetan Freedom Struggle. In 2003, she published her autobiographic novel Pantau in India. The book was released in the Dutch and English in India, Nepal, the Netherlands, Belgium and the USA. Currently, Renard lives in Bangkok, Thailand to carry out research for a new novel.
