Summary: Make it possible to revert a lot of bad versions that currently must be deleted, even if they are the same content as content that is typically just reverted.

Currently, pages whose history only consists of bad versions can't be handled the same way as most other bad page versions. The vast majority of bad edits are simply reverted by the next editor who views the page. However, if a bad edit is made on a page with no good old version, it cannot be reverted, and must be deleted, even if the bad content is the same as content that is typically simply reverted. It seems like a waste of time and effort to treat the same content so differently, depending on where it is.

All the same rules that currently apply to reverting would apply to this kind of reverting also, of course.

The deletion process would go on exactly as it does now. This proposal takes no position on, and suggests no changes in, the deletion process.
