Jimmy Ellis Black (born November 21, 1962), United Kingdom is a London Born British Songwriter,Music Producer, Composer, Musician, Actor.

London Born self taught Keyboardist, Songwriter ,Music Producer And Rapper,  Born and raised in Bethnal Green, East London, for his innovative production with works which includes, Zuice, 3rd Nation.[1] JBMixx,[2] Dj Stonebridge, Stevie Wonder, Was (Not Was).

Early life

James Black Aka Tony James Black was raised in Bethnal Green, East London, Attending Daneford Boys School, Including James he has five brothers and two sisters,

From the age of seven James began playing Piano in his older brothers bedroom as his older Brother David was in a Funk band and having close connections , which had few members from Imagination, Central Line and Light Of The World. With His Brother  David bringing the bands music equipments home to store overnight every week ,James had a pleasure of sneaking in to learn to play the Synthesisers,

As growing up ,he loved funk music, inspired by Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, and Earth Wind & Fire.> he later joined up in a band and started playing gigs in youth clubs in the Londons West End  while growing up by age 20, he then joined up with the Band called Zuice.

Music Career

1978 James Started his first funk band called Street Heat, with Members Jay Henry (vocals), the late Jeffery Julian (drums) whos brother is Film Director Issac Julien, and they use to rehearse in the London's West End youth club called The Basement as part of Central London Youth Project (C.L.Y.P) based in Covent Gardens which also used as a Club in the film Quadrophenia

1982, Black had Connections with Lovers Rock Singer Carol Sims (Kofi) she connected James to Stephen Carmichael from North London which he then joined Group Déjà vu  which includes the ex Wham bassist  Rodger Radix who then left to join Wham, by then Déjà vu had changed its name to became Zuice. with members James Aka Tony James Black, Hazel Fernandes, Stephen Carmichael , Steve Corsial , Micheal St Luce 1985 The band got signed By A&R and former Radio London Dj, Jeff Young to Phonogram Records under the Club Label and  Mercury Records to record there first album Im A Survivor recorded in Stevie Wonders Wonderland Studios Los Angeles ,And the Roundhouse Recording Studios in Camden Town, called with cover artwork design by the legendary Neville Brody With there debut single Everyone a winner[3] which was produced by Stevie Wonders Bassist Nathan Watts, Lenny White and Teena Marie producer Bobby Brooks in 1987, was followed up by a UK TOUR as warm up for Alexander O'Neal and Cameo. Stevie Wonder was also featured playing harmonica on the song Composed by James titled "Can't You Feel The Love[4]" James worked on Was Not Was dance remix called Spy In The House Of Love.

1990 James Relocated to Helsinki, Finland , where he was signed as a Songwriter for BMG Records Scandinavia and Universal Music Finland as a Songwriter for Finnish Artist Waldo, Waldo's People with songs  Its About Time, Feel So Good, Move Your Body, and also Recorded with Finnish Artists, Movetron on hit Single called Voodoo man , Mandi Lampi, AikaKone

3rd Nation 1995 Charles Max'C Salter, James Black

In 1991 3rd Nation was signed to Swemix Records with his first single called Stand Up, released under Champion Records then the 2nd single I Belleve which peaked No 8 in the Billboard Dance Charts, James was also a member of the Band "3rd Nation" in the 90s with fellow bandmate Charles Max'C) Salter Who sang lead vocals on "I BELIEVE" which was produced by hit maker Stonebridge. Stonebridge also produced the famous hit by Robin S "Show Me love also remixing for 3fd nation was Rollo Armstrong from Faithless.

2000  james had worked with various artist on Top Of The Pops, CD:UK and Live & Kicking as session keyboardist  for Anastacia, Sonique, Lionel Richie, among others., then by 2013  to Current - James and His Nephew Jason black began a Production team Duo JBMixx,[2]

JBMixx, James & Jason Black 2014 - Current

DJ & Producer Jason Black (aka Altornator) - a long time slugger for D&B, House Music and House & Garage Music in the 80s and 90s. Jason spent his learning the ropes during training sessions at OPAZ studios in London with leading UK Producer, Songwriter and Artist, Ray Hayden. Ray Hayden created Martine Girault's soul classic "Revival" and produced many other artists including jazz guitarist Ronny Jordan, Mary J Blige, Incognito and Swing Out Sister. Jason is now creating fantastic new idea's for all kinds of Deep Dance, Underground and Commercial beats.

Both are now fully committed to their music crafts and continue to work and collaborate with other artists and producers to Create great music with their own unique sound.
