Material Handling

L&T Hydraulics caters to bulk material handling needs and steel plants with a wide range of products like Wagon Tippler, Side Arm Charger and Barrel Reclaimer. Wagon Tipplers include new generation robust marshalling equipment for precise positioning of Wagons with smooth drive transmission (hydraulic/mechanical) and hydraulic clamping systems.

Crushing Systems & Equipment

L&T manufacture an exhaustive range of size reduction / screening / feeding system to cater to various crushing application. The product range extends from unit equipment to complete crushing plants, both stationary and mobile, of up to 2000 TPH capacity, covering all types of size reduction technology: single/double toggle jaw crushers, cone/gyratory crushers, feeder breakers, roll crushers and sizers, impact crushers, ring granulators and hammer mills. The portfolio also includes wobblers and vibratory screens, grizzly/apron feeders, and dryers etc. Single and double rotor horizontal shaft impactors, novo- and uni-rotor hammer mills, wobblers, rapid dryers, and hydraulic push feeders are made in technical collaboration with Hazemag & EPR GmbH, Germany. L&T-Hazemag Impactors are preferred by the Indian cement industry for limestone crushing.

L&T has another technical collaboration with T.J. Gundlach Machine Company, U.S.A., for the manufacture of single and double stage roll crushers, breakers, and cage pactors used extensively in the coal sector. A combination of jaw and cone or impact crusher is offered for crushing iron ore and stone aggregate.

Hydraulic Equipment

L&T Komatsu Ltd is based in Bangalore,the plant was started in 1975 by L&T to manufacture Hydraulic Excavators for the first time in India. In 1998 it became a joint venture with Komatsu Ltd. L&T offers customised hydraulic systems for various applications in the engineering, chemical and sugar industries. It provides Hydraulic systems for Paddle feeders, Side arm chargers, Wagon tipplers, Cranes, Chemical agitators, Material handling and conveying systems.

L&T's hydraulic Equipment also offers heavy duty, double acting type cylinders which can be used in hydraulic excavators, wheel loaders, loaders backhoes, mobile cranes, dumpers and various other applications, in the following range: Bore diameter : Up to 300 mm Stroke : Up to 4000 mm Maximum operating pressure : Up to 400 bar End mounting : Eye end, trunnion, flange, foot or any other type, depending on requirement upto 300 mm to 4000 mm

L&T Komatsu also provide G3 Generation and G4 Generation Hydraulic motors which are Low speed high torque hydraulic motors which are used in applications like Hydraulic drive in sugarcane crushing mills and Hydraulic transmission for shunting locomotives

Valves

Rubber Processing Machinery

The unit was incorporated in 1972 as a joint venture between L&T and McNeil Akron Inc. of USA. Subsequently in 1995, L&T acquired the total ownership of the JV and made it as a Strategic Business Unit (SBU), known as LTM Business Unit, retaining its popular name of LTM. LTMBU has added a new facility in Qingdao province in China.LTM has in-house facilities for designing mechanical, hydraulic, electronic and electrical systems. LTM Business Unit has close interaction with reputed educational institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, and Anna University for design and validation of complex systems used in Rubber Processing Machinery..

Plastics Processing Machinery

L&T Plastics Machinery Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited which is situated in Chennai. L&T started manufacturing injection moulding machines in 1990 with the introduction of the "D series" of advanced injection moulding machines in a joint venture with Mannesmann Demag Kunstofftechnik, the erstwhile Demag Plastics Group.

In March 31, 2009, L&T acquired the equity formerly owned by Demag to form L&T Plastics Machinery Limited. L&T Plastics is acknowledged as the leading injection moulding solutions provider in India. Its facilities in and around Chennai incorporate some of the most advanced systems for design and research, hydraulics and mechanical construction. Production capacities exceed 1000 machines every year in clamping forces from 400kN to 13000kN.

Paper Machinery

L&T’s Kansbahal Works also manufactures full range of plant and machinery for production of pulp, paper, and board in association with Voith, Germany. The product range covers unit equipment for pulping and stock preparation like agitators, pulpers, flotation cells, refiners, screens, and de-inking plants. L&T specializes in paper and board machine equipment: drying cylinders, rolls for the press and wire sections, suction couch and pick-up rolls, calendering equipment, and pope reel.

Welding Products

L&T EWAC Alloys Limited provides with the optimum Solutions in Welding and wear Protection. EWAC Alloys Limited offers many specialized welding products, they also offer semi-automatic and automatic range for joining (ferrous & non-ferrous metals), wear facing, brazing, soldering, solid & flux cored wires, MecaTec, a cold repair compound and fabrication consumables. EWAC has its factory in Ankleshwar in the vibrant state of Gujarat. Majority of products are being manufactured here. Castings

The Foundry at Kansbahal Works produces castings to customer specifications, mainly catering to Thermal Power, Paper, Crushing and Cement sectors. Depending on the geometry of the component, the Foundry is capable of producing castings of single piece weights up to 15 tons in High Alloy Irons, 22 tons in Spheroidal Graphite & Gray Irons, and 12 tons in Carbon & Alloy Steels. Kansbahal Works also offers products like Wear-parts like Rings & Balls, Roller Tyres & Table segments in Ni-Cr Irons for various types of coal, raw meal and clinker grinding mills used in Thermal Power & Cement plants, critical cast component requirements for Crushing & Paper machinery and custom-made heat resistant castings like coiler mandrel, etc.

L&T's MIPD division: Kansbahal Works situated in Orissa, manufactures a large range of components for Wind Mills. L&T specialise in manufacturing ready-to-fit components for Wind Turbine Generators in SG iron. The Product Range for Wind Mills Components includes :
