Info: WikiProject Medicine Translation Task Force & Translators without Borders

What is WikiProject Medicine Translation Task Force and who are Translators without Borders?

Within the framework of WikiProject Medicine and Translators without Borders (TwB) joint project, about eighty articles have been selected for translation. The complete list of these articles can be found at Book:Health care. The detailed description of the project is here. The translators are members of TwB, are qualified translators, and all work is done on a volunteer basis. Due to the size of the articles, most translations are first completed by a team of translators, these partial files are then combined by a so-called language lead of the given target language, and finally the so-called integrator of the target language uploads the file to the target language Wikipedia. When there is an article already existing on a given subject, the integrator takes utmost care to add the translation with new information to the original content. There may be a detailed and thorough article on a given disease/disorder on the target language Wikipedia; in such cases the English source file is not translated. The project was launched in March 2012 and today translation / integration work is underway in over fifty languages.

Mi az a WikiProject Medicine Translation Task Force és kik azok a Fordítók Határok Nélkül / Translators without Borders?

Az angol nyelvű WikiProject Medicine és a Translators without Borders (TwB, Fordítók Határok Nélkül) közös projektje keretében mintegy nyolcvan szócikket jelöltek ki fordításra. Ezek listájának elérhetősége: Book:Health care. A projekt teljes leírása itt található.

Bringing topics up to GA or FA status

All articles must reach WP:GA or WP:FA status before they are translated such that we can get the biggest benefit out of the efforts of those doing translation.

Some hints to help find Wikipedia-related content

The array of policies and guidelines (and other, less formal material such as essays) can make the 'Cochrane Handbook' feel almost slim. Here are some Wikipedia-related search tips:

  • To locate an 'internal' Wikipedia page, type "WP:" or "Wikipedia:" in the Search box followed by the name/shortcut of the page you're looking for (eg "WP:MED").
  • To find a user, type "User:" in the Search box followed by the user's name (eg "User:Jfdwolff").
  • To locate a template, type "Template:" followed by its name (eg "Template:Cite web").
  • If you can't remember the exact name of what you need, the search box will make suggestions based on your input (you don't need to worry about using upper/lower case).

And of course, keep in mind specific guidelines for editing medical articles on the English Wikipedia.
