About Me

I'm a researcher with the U.S. Geological Survey, studying land use and land cover change with the use of satellite imagery. However, my passion is birding and bird photography. I've created and maintained an extensive website of birding and bird in my state of South Dakota, a now out of control venture that's reached over 3,500 pages of information and photos. I greatly enjoy working on my website, and helping to educate folks about birds and birding. My site includes information on all 415 species that have been seen in South Dakota, an extensive photo collection of over 2,000 photos, bird quizzes, screensavers, and more. The website is:

My Wikipedia History

I've been editing since December 2006. Nearly all of my edits at this stage have been to individual bird species pages. Wikipedia often pops up very high on Google searches for an individual bird species, but the information on some of the pages is often a little sparse. I hope to beef up some of the individual bird species pages.
