Writing quality in articles
One of the things on which I focus is editing Wikipedia articles for their spelling, grammar, and clarity. Don't be surprised if you see me rewording something that you wrote, putting a comma in, changing an instance of its to it's, rewriting passive voice into active voice, or performing other writing maintenance tasks. Sure, it's a mostly thankless task, but someone's gotta do it.
I believe that one of the most important aspects needing attention here is the general quality of writing. The more that our articles are written well, the more academicians, the media, and educated readers will respect us. The more we are respected, the more power we gain as a source of information. And isn't that the whole point?
