I am the original Goooooru. Started in the 90's when we had pagers (beepers), the only "caller ID" we had was a code we entered at the end of the phone number we were sending. This is because we often called each other from unknown numbers such as pay phones. For example, if I wanted you to call 811-811-8111 and let you know who sent you that number, I would send 811811811100000. The five zeros at the end was the code I picked. The most common codes were 808 for 'BOB' or 8008 for 'BOOB'. My friend in high school gave me the nickname 'Guru' because I was always helping others. So mashing the two together, G00000RU or Goooooru was born.
