These are various "tricks" to make Windows XP run faster -- "tricks" that should be done on a regular basis. Warning! Only people experienced with computers and Windows XP should even attempt anything on this page. Even so, if you have even the slightest doubt or are even a bit confused about anything on this page or about anything you encounter while following these instructions, ASK SOMEONE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT COMPUTERS FOR HELP.

Deleting temporary files

  1. On the Start menu click Run....
  2. In the dialog box that appears on the screen, type %Temp% then click OK.
  3. You will see a folder with a lot of files.
  4. In the Edit menu click Select All.
  5. In the File menu click Delete.
