For my article, Smart TV, I plan to contribute interesting and useful information. This information could help people who are considering purchasing a Smart TV decide if they want to or not and could also help people who already own a Smart TV with an issue or just simply inform them about new features. The Smart TV article could use more updated information so I tried to choose recent sources.

[1] [2]

These articles provide information on how to protect Smart TV from hackers. There were rumors and cases of people who own Smart TVs being "spied" on. This could be useful to owners and a warning to people considering purchasing a Smart TV. This information could be added to the content "Security and privacy".

[3]

This articles provides information on a new feature of Smart TV. This feature makes payments more easier and convenient. This information could be added to the content "Market share" or perhaps a new content could be created.

[4]

Although there is already a content for Smart TV platforms, this article lists all of the platforms and could therefore be elaborated on.

I think that your article is well organized. It shows both the positives and setbacks of Smart TV. The content is neutral and the sources are reliable. One of the article's strengths is that is has concise facts and details key people involved with Smart TV.The article was easy to read and understand. The points in the article are in a good order and the statements in the article are connected to reliable sources. I would just check over the spelling and grammar in the article. The article has a lot of strengths and is well thought out. Tpsfc

@Tpsfc Thank you! I tried to keep it simple and strictly informative. I will look over the grammar corrections and perhaps add more information.

Draft for Smart TV article

Security and Privacy

Hackers have misused Smart TV's abilities such as operating source codes for applications and its unsecured connection to the Internet. Passwords, IP address data, and credit card information can be accessed by hackers and even companies for advertisement. A company caught in the act is VIzio. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to stop or prevent this, which are unsubscribing from Vizio, updating and installing firmware and latest patches, checking manual, features, and settings, using a smartphone device or computer in place of bank-related activities, downloading security apps, setting up individual networks, not using the camera, not checking messages, being cautious when browsing, using Smart TV strictly for entertainment and disconnecting from the Internet if it is not use, and lastly contacting the manufacturer for help or further information.

Market Share

The amount of households having Internet connected to the Internet has rapidly increased over the years. Many households use Smart TV platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. 52% of households get subscriptions from these platforms. 43% of adults stream monthly. 43% of pay-TV subscribers get Netflix. 19% of Netflix subscribers share their Netflix subscription with other people outside of their households. 10% of adults have shown interest in HBO Now, which is $14.99 per month without subscription to a pay-TV service.

Features

Smart TV develops new features to satisfy consumers and companies, such as new payment processes. LG and PaymentWall have collaborated to allow consumers to access purchased apps, movies, games, and more using a remote control, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. This is intended for an easier and more convenient way for checkout.

Platforms

There are many Smart TV platforms used for individual purposes. Smart TV owners desire the most successful platform possible for their Smart TV. For this reason, platforms are ranked from best to worst.
