My name is Emma Grace Choplin, Emmagch, and I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Neuroscience with Highest Honors and minors in Neuroscience and Religious Studies. At UNC, I worked with Eric A. Youngstrom Ph.D. in the Mood, Emotions, and Clinical Child Assessment (MECCA) Lab, focusing on Evidenced-Based Assessment (EBA), Dissemination & Implementation Science (DIS), and Multi-Informant Discrepancy. As Past-President of Helping Give Away Psychological Science ( HGAPS), a national non-profit organization, I work on bridging the gap between clinicians, researchers, students, and the public to increase open access to psychological science. I worked from June 2019-July 2021 as the Research Coordinator and Lab Manager for the Social and Cultural Neuroscience (SCN) Lab with Elizabeth Reynolds Losin Ph.D. as the Principal Investigator at the University of Miami in the Psychology Department's Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience (CBN) Division studying health disparities, doctor-patient relationships, brain patterns and analgesic prescribing decision-making influenced by racial and gender bias. I am now back at my alma mater in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program on the Child and Family track with Eric Youngstrom as my graduate advisor. My research and clinical interests still include DIS and EBA but have extended into youth with cognitive disengagement syndrome/sluggish cognitive tempo, Tourette Syndrome, ADHD and comorbid disorders especially Bipolar Disorder, parenting, emotion regulation, and knowledge transference.
