I am Eddie Vos, a person specializing in failure analysis [metallurgy / material sciences, Eng. 1967; M. Eng 1976] and as a quest / hobby trying to get closer to the cause of artery failure, i.e. most of heart disease, the epidemic that appeared about 100 years ago [J. Herrick in JAMA 1912].

I am a proponent of the 'protein corrosion' hypothesis of aging: the gradual decline by thiolation [sulfur based damage by homocysteine of structural and functional proteins] and by glycation [oxygen related damage prevalent in diabetes].

I created the non money generating and not-for-profit website http://www.health-heart.org As of Dec. 2006, there are 10 references to my name in Medline, the world's medical database.
