This site and community has become too hostile and political. I used this site for years and wanted nothing more than to try to contribute to the wealth of knowledge here.

I tried to edit on this site to get away from how overly politicized the rest of the internet has become. You can't even watch twitch without hearing about "DID YOU HEAR (figure) SAID (thing)????" The entire world has become obsessed with this rendition of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Psseudointellectual Edition at this point.

The self-sacrifice given to this project no longer provides me with more satisfaction than it does stress, and I no longer feel like I can add enough satisfaction to other readers to make this worth it. Both zealously and apathy has been the downfall of many great mass projects, throughout both recent and ancient history. These may seem like opposites, however, Zealousy in cliques leads to apathy for individuals, who abandon the project until only the zealots are left.

I have met and worked with some very nice and decent people here who seemed to be on the side of the truth with no detectable ideology at all. I have nothing but the upmost respect for those individuals, and wish them nothing but great success and cake in their futures. They deserve nothing but happiness in life.

Though I refrained from participating much, I stalked the pages of the israel/palestine and the russia/ukraine conflicts. Those who cooperated with one another and act respectfully and peacefully on extremely divisive topics, while surrounded by those who want to change the article to be on the "right" side of history, constantly staring into the abyss. That's not easy, and I commend you. Please, try not to allow them to change you. What follows here will not apply to everyone.

That being said:

To those who unironically use the word "woke" as often as californians use the word "like", accusing everyone else as being motivated by "DEI" or "ECG" or whatever
To who make non-stop use of loaded rhetoric and attempt to vilify everyone who doesn't completely agree with your slander, or try to paint them as being among the worst in history, turning any conversation or discussion into an argument where one has to defend themselves from your "gotchas"
To those who assume others are here with ulterior motives, and either consciously or subconsciously turn their position into the "righteous" one, integrating your political beliefs into your own religion
To those who accuse others of holding discriminatory views, without evidence, simply on a "gut feeling"
To those who place politics and political views over your fellow human, as if either if you are important enough to justify that level of hate

When you were kids, you might have sneered at the idea of becoming, or even directly at the person you have become now. Sincerely reflect on your personality, and ask yourself if this is the kind of person you want to be. Wouldn't it be nice to just smell the flowers in life, without being so, pardon the cliche, radicalized?

Sure, you might have to deal with some unpleasant emtions for a bit. Sure, you might find yourself thinking "What was I thinking, treating others like that?." However, identifying your flaws is the first step towards improvement.

To those described above, enjoy the insufferable prison of your own creation. To the decent people left here, ChatGPT and other AI resources are now supplanting what Wikipedia previously offered. Nobody in this community will notice or even care if you're gone. You however, will notice when your mental health improves drastically.
