Chávez has been criticised for what some have called Anti-Semitic remarks.[1][2][3] And for adopting an Anti-Semitic policy within government.[4][5][6][7] Michael Rowan and Douglas E. Schoen writing in Forbes have criticized Chávez for making anti-Semitic statements.[8] As has Mary Anastasia O'Grady the editor of the Wall Street Journal [9] Abraham H. Foxman has also been critical saying, "it can hardly come as a surprise that Chávez would also attack the Jewish community" [10] His harsh criticism of Israel has also lead to accusations of raising Anti-Semitic feelings [11][12][13][14]

In a speech which many have regarded as Anti-Semitic he said "The world is for all of us," he said, "then, but it so happens that a minority, the descendents of the same ones that crucified Christ, the descendents of the same ones that kicked Bolivar out of here and also crucified him in their own way over there in Santa Marta, in Colombia. A minority has taken possession all of the wealth of the world" [15] [16][8]
