His father Debisingh Narjinary and mother Padmashri Narjinary left Dudumari village and settled in Dhantali village of Jalpaiguri district (now Alipurduar district). At the same time six families left Dudumari village and lived in Dhantali, they learned from the evangelism of Scottish missionaries that Jesus is the only savior and founded a church in 1904 at Dhantali Village.

Since then the role of Rev. Jitnal Narjinary has been immense. Rev. J. Narjinary first taught in lower primary school but later realized that education is essential if the village boys and girls are to have a bright future. So he opened a small school in Dhantali village with the help of Guild Mission, the school had four classes and he alone taught all the classes.

Mahakalguri was the central station of the Bodo mission and a church was established here in 1907 by Rev.Peter Meenan. In 1916, Rev. Jitnal Narjinary was appointed as the Archdiocese of Mahakalguri Bodo Scottish Church and on 4th January 1925 he was ordained as Pastor at Mahakalguri by Rev.McLean.

And over the next 50 years he devoted himself to the church and society of East Duars, bringing about great changes in the Churches, especially in the social, economic, and educational spheres. Thus the churches were doing well till 1960-1962 but later evil ideas entered the minds of some people and Satan stung the churches formed with strict sincerity. There were various excuses and factionalism among themselves. At least 7-8 years went on like this. Finally after completely abandoning the unsatisfying behavior, violent behavior, disorderly behavior of many ambitious people, after becoming independent , the Presbyterian Independent Church Council was established in 1970 by Rev. Jitnal Narjinary.

He was the first Moderator of Presbyterian Independent Church Council of North East India.

He will always be remembered in our hearts For these great works. He breathed his last on the 14th December, 1986
