Anticompetitive practices are used to prevent competition within the market. Intellectual property rights in one such way to reduce competition. Monsanto has a monopoly on Glyphosate herbicide. Monsanto has also patented seeds that are resistant to the Glyphosate herbicide forcing other farmers to use Monsanto’s seeds and Glyphosate. Monsanto is therefore able to keep his monopoly on his patented seed as well as Glyphosate.

I read the Genetically Modified Food article to critique. In the introduction of the article it mentions that there is controversy over the fact that certain GMO products have been subject to intellectual property. That is really interesting and the source for it is a really good source however there is no mention of GMOs as intellectual property anywhere else in the article and that can be elaborated on. The article could also elaborate on the environmental impacts of GMOs. Every fact is referenced with a citation throughout the article. The links to the references work. Otherwise the article has a lot of sources, everything is relevant to the article and it is neutral.

Chipotle is funding $500,000 toward 100 school gardens in different cities across the US in an effort to teach kids where food comes from and how food is grown. It will be incorporated in the school's curriculum. Chipotle hopes to teach kids the importance of eating healthy and to change society's view of fast food.

I chose the article Slow Food to read and critique. The article could say more about Chipotle’s partnership with Slow Food USA. The source for Chipotle’s partnership has a lot of good information that could be added to the article. The link for the second reference “Slow Food History” doesn’t work. That should be fixed. A citation is needed in the “Organization” section of the article. A citation is also needed in the “Objectives” section of the article. A citation is also needed in the “United Kingdom” section of the article. Otherwise there are good sources, everything is relevant to the article, and it is neutral. — Atate27 (talk) 19:07, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
