Hi there?

Hi Abhijit,

How are you? We met at the Wikipedia stand at CMDA Expo. You mentioned Medical Aesthetics. I have done a few friendly edits on the article knowing that it is very close to your heart. AshLin (talk) 18:26, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

I am extremely happy to have a comment which not of any administrator to teach me something but of a friend! This feeling cannot be expressed in words! Would like to meet you all in the meeting! Thanks :) -Abhijeet Safai 04:22, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Avoiding copyright problems

Hello, and welcome. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source if public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to visit me at my talk page . Thank you. --MegaSloth (talk) 23:23, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Hello, Abhijeet Safai. You have new messages at MegaSloth's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
You asked at Talk:Concept note whether you are allowed to copy content from farmradio.org and how you would know. You are not; we know this because this material is copyrighted (as it points out at the bottom of the page) and because their Terms of Use (here) don't contain a "license" compatible with ours. It comes very close, but they don't allow commercial reuse, and we do. Since we do, we can't use their content.
As a general rule of thumb, you should start with the assumption that you cannot copy anything you find. There are exceptions to this, but it will be true of the vast majority of content you encounter. See Wikipedia:Copy-paste and Wikipedia:Public domain. This can help you get a better idea of what exceptions there are. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:15, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

A cup of tea for you!

Beware

You are going to run afoul of WP:NOTABILITY. Every NGO is not notable. Every article's notability needs to be proved. You need to add many references or this article will be targetted for deletion. Sorry to be frank. Only national level NGO articles are safe from challenge. AshLin (talk) 12:16, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Follow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Foreign_sources#Non-English_sources to the letter! Don't forget to sign off your posts on my talk page with a set of four tildes (AshLin (talk) 07:15, 24 February 2012 (UTC). AshLin (talk) 14:26, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
You are not reading carefully. Take your time & read to understand. See what it says in quote box below. Don't over reference either! Reduce them by choosing ones which reference more than one fact.

AshLin(talk) 15:35, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

  • When quoting a source in a different language, provide the original text and an English translation, either in the body of the article or in a footnote.
  • When citing a non-English source for information, it is not always necessary to provide a translation. However, if a question should arise as to whether the non-English original actually supports the information, relevant portions of the original and a translation should be given in a footnote, as a courtesy.
Abhijeet, firstly learn to correctly sign your posts. I have told you how to do it. Sinebot has told you but yet you are not following this instruction. Why? It is simple, instead of typing your name just add four tildes , like this (AshLin (talk) 07:15, 24 February 2012 (UTC). The key is on top left corner just below the Escape key on your keyboard. The reason, I am insisting is that this is the first thing taught to a newbie. You are creating articles, so you are not a newbie. It is very shameful to not be able to sign your posts at this stage of wiki-editing.
Secondly, you are not bothering to read and learn, slow down! First read the pages for referencing for beginners in the link box below:

Then improve your citations. Single url citations are not good style. If after reading these, you need help to understand, please contact me. :). Just improve one citation and I will correct your mistakes and show you how it is done. But you need to read, understand & try to do it yourself first. :) AshLin (talk) 06:24, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Also, should i continue my discussion over here itself? to reduce confusion? or should i write on your talk page? I think writing on your talk page is more offensive. I think I should continue my discussion over here itself. Thanks. Abhijeet Safai 07:00, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

I am sure that that I will learn it! :) Abhijeet Safai 07:02, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Example

Since I donot know why your computer is not behaving properly, we shall leave that for now.

A simple way to add a nwspaper citation is to type it like this:

<ref name="ref-name">Author_Surname, Initials (Date of publishing). [url "Name of article"], newspaper, City. Accessed on "date".</ref>

Example,

<ref name="TOI_270611">Times News Network, (27 June 2011). "Bang couple's Nirman camp begins at Shodhgram", Times of India, Nagpur. Accessed on 24 February 2011."</ref>

This example is for using English newspaper sources. I suggest you use this source I found and maximum other sources in English language and replace marathi language sources. It is difficult to make mixed script sources. Far easier to find alternative English language sources. If you cannot replace all then, we can see how to make mixed language references. Till date, I have never made one. AshLin (talk) 07:15, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Surely I will do that. I am doing it in the evening. Abhijeet Safai 07:49, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Is reference no 4 right now? Thanks Abhijeet Safai 11:45, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Just now i saw reference material link which you have given. I will go through it soon and will come back to article. Thanks Abhijeet Safai 12:08, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Jitendra Joshi (Marathi actor)

Thanks for creating the article. The actor is notable enough to stay on Wikipedia. But that should be proved properly. I am assuming you are quite new here as editor. In case you havent got time to work on article completely you should work on it in your sandbox and then when complete move to the article space. That way you get enough time and then other editors don't have to doubt its notability and go through the AfD process. Other editors can also help you in your sandbox. Take care of this from next time. In case of any doubts do ask. The article should most probably stay now. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 20:40, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Your Welcome

Well, I did feel the same as you did for promoting that article to FA/GA status. I think you might also wish to see the nomination of Tuberculosis in India for the Collaboration of the month. Thanks! VIVEK RAI :  Friend?  11:44, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes being a medico, it interests me, but I am not sure if it will interest non medico. Abhijeet Safai (talk) 11:51, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Firstly thanks for the support shown. However, there isn't any technical data to be put in the article. It focuses on the condition of the disease in India and not about the disease itself. Let's see anyways. VIVEK RAI :  Friend?  12:07, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. There are other important illnesses which India is facing - like anemia or arthritis or respiratory diseases or heart diseases. In case of TB only one line is important to be implemented and that is - make sure that patient takes the medicine for the time it has prescribed. Anyways. I feel sometimes that many diseases are linked to unhygienic conditions so hygiene in India should be the issue to work on. Again one more problem is that - in wikipedia we are only reading and writing but lot of work needs to be 'done' on these issues.Abhijeet Safai (talk) 12:19, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
